Guest Lecturing at Kettering University

In March, I was pleased to have the opportunity to come back to my Alma Mater of Kettering University as a guest lecturer. I still remember Dr. Davis joining the (then GMI) Mechanical Engineering department when I was a student. He now runs the engine development labs and guides the Formula SAE teams at Kettering. Times may change, but the science behind engineering and calibration does not. It’s good to see that with minimal prodding, these bright future engineers quickly discovered the underlying principles behind electronic fuel injection controls. No doubt, they will be able to apply this lesson to several of their current projects in the garage and at future competitions. I was proud to be invited back and share my experience with this generation of innovators.

Advanced Ford Training Course
We are proud to announce the return of our popular live, in person Advanced Ford Training course. We will be hosting a course once again with the host of our very first live class, VMP Tuning in their new location in New Smyrna Beach, Florida on April 22-23, 2022. Much of the material came from our original SCT Dealer-Only Training course, but it has been updated to include other software platforms and is now open to the public. Come learn from an experienced OEM calibration engineer, ask questions, and see the latest goodies at VMP while sharing lunch with some of the brightest in the industry.
Registration is $1395 per person, with a $100 early registration discount available through January. As with all Calibrated Success live courses, class size will be limited to make sure that everyone gets the most from their attendance. Contact greg@calibratedsuccess.com to sign up.

Woodward Dream Cruise
Check out an interview with the My Michigan TV Crew at the Woodward Dream Cruise. We were in attendance with the twin turbo C6 Corvette with our friends at PMD Garage in Pontiac surrounded by some of the coolest cars in the country. Best of all, they’re actually driving and being enjoyed.

A return to in-person training
After a long break, we are proud to announce the return of a live class. Greg Banish will be hosting a three day GM Advanced Training seminar at Redline Motorsports 7/30-8/01. This class will focus on the GM GenV (LTx) engine platform, but discussions will cover more applications. This longer format will provide time to dive into specific examples and the elusive “why” behind these newer control systems. Limited class size to make sure everyone attending gets the best experience. Early registration pricing ($1,495) available through 6/30, $1,695 thereafter. Register by email Greg@calibratedsuccess.com

Streaming Training Videos Now Online
We are excited to announce that all of our current training videos are now available for immediate streaming. Even better, we have broken the longer videos up into smaller segments (each with a lower cost!) to pace your training as you wish. We also have a few NEW videos on there for the GenV crowd and a lot more to come for everyone.
This will be the new home for all our training videos going forward, so hop on over to check it out.
GM GenV Training is now available.
Finally, the instruction you’ve been waiting for is done. Check out our latest video covering the modern GM Direct Injection engines with their torque based electronic throttle control. LT1, LT4, LT5, L83, they all run the new DI controls featuring completely new injector, fuel pump, and throttle control systems. Don’t worry, we break it down in plain English and show some practical examples (using four-digit horsepower!) of how you can learn to calibrate your own projects with confidence on this new system. Don’t be intimidated. You might be surprised how well these systems can work if you take the time to tune them properly. The video is available NOW from our partners at Detroit Technical Media.
10 Years of Great Training
It feels like only last week I was teaching my first public class as a part of the multi-day “How to use your new chassis dyno” class at Mustang Dynamometer. Over the last decade, I’ve had the pleasure of working with and training some of the best people in the performance industry, YOU GUYS! Thank you for the support. Whether it was attending a live class, reading my books, or buying our DVDs from one of my authorized dealers, it all helps us turn go back and produce the next chapter in of world class EFI training material. It’s been a great ride so far, and we have much MUCH more in store for the future. As they say, Stay Tuned…
Hold onto your lugnuts. It’s time for an overhaul.
A much needed refresh to the Calibrated Success web presence. Please bear with me as I light the fuse on the dynamite and blow the old site to smithereens. With any luck, the new site will be sleeker, more interesting, and easier for me to update on a reasonable basis. Stay tuned as we do a little cleanup around here…
